Seek Ye First
There is such greatness within you that sometimes it can feel too big to even begin to understand who you are, and what’s possible for you. You can push it down so far, that it is unrecognisable, beneath the fear, shame and guilt.
But Marianne Williamson wasn’t wrong when she said in her famous quote, it’s not our darkness we are most afraid of it’s our light.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?"
We all come here with different gifts, different light, different greatness, which can sometimes make it even more confusing as we try to work out who we are as a whole, and where we fit as an individual aspect of that one whole.
We see others doing things and want to be like them, we want what they have, we don’t want to be who we mistakenly believe we are.
The amazing thing is our own powerful truth is readily available to us from within.
Yet all too often we seek it outside of ourselves, we look for it in others, in what we do, in what we have, our children, our partner, our bodies, our possessions.
Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God, is an invitation to go inwards first.
To find your foundations, the strength you have, to express your power, your light, your greatness, out in the world. For the world, and for yourself.
This is living from love.
You have your own unique gifts, you are a one off, there is nobody else that is you, there is nobody else that can be you, you are not a cookie cutter model, you can’t follow someone else’s five step how to program, because nobody ever went before you as you.
What you can know is how to know what to do in every unique moment, as you.
You can know and follow your own inner guidance.
You can dare to be YOU!
You are here to know yourself and your gifts and to use them in service to the whole.
This is how life works in perfect harmony.
When you know who you are, your unique Godentity, and unique gifts, it’s easy to serve, it feels right, it brings you joy, you are in alignment, you are following your bliss, you never ‘work’ a day in your life.
You are filled to overflowing.
Everything you truly desire is being given to you.
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you". Matthew 6.33

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
Matthew 6. 33
God is inviting us to make the first thing we do, to seek the kingdom of God.
And his righteousness, and if we do that, then all the things we truly want will be given to us.
So, what does he mean?
I asked this question, and this was what came to me.
The kingdom of God is within you ~ It is YOU.
It is who you truly are.
It is a paradigm of love.
It is a way of being.
It is the way we were created and intended to BE.
Which is why it should be the first thing we do, the starting point.
It is the invitation to know yourself.
And for the sake of freedom, it must be a choice we make to seek it.
Gods’ righteousness is, the right way of being, being how we are intended to be.
We are one being, all connected, and then we have our own unique aspect of Divinity, that is personal to us, this oneness and uniqueness is your God-entity, the way YOU were intended to be.
If I asked you the question, “What is your world view?” would you know what I mean?
We all have a world view, it is the lens through which we view, the world, and life and everything, we don’t see anything outside of our world view, we see everything through it.
Most of us have no idea what our world view is, and often confuse it with a club or group we are associated with, for example we may say “I have a spiritual world view” or “I have a religious world view”
But it means something much simpler yet deeper than this, there are in fact only two world views:
Love or Fear.
You can substitute other words for love and fear, but essentially all of us view everything through one or other of these lenses, mostly without ever knowing it.
Our worldview is rather like the water a goldfish swims in, unknown to us.
We can know it only by its effect on us and the world we see around us.
What kind of world do you live in?
You could substitute the words Love or Fear for Kingdom or Empire.
Which is what "Seek ye first the kingdom of God” is pointing towards.
Kingdom is a love viewpoint.
Empire is a fear viewpoint.
If you view the world through the lens of fear, this is how it pans out…
FEAR - Empire
Disconnection
Lack/scarcity/not enough
Certainty/control
Self-centred
Defensive/closed down/self-serving
Trapped, holding tightly onto what we believe we need, and trying desperately to get more
If you view the world through the lens of love, this is how it pans out…
LOVE ~ Kingdom
Connection
Enough/overflow/abundance
Mystery/it’s ok to make a mistake
Whole/other focused
Open/ receptive /In service
Free, with the freedom to create what we want for the pure joy and fun of it all.
Both views must exist for the other to be possible, and for freedom to be an option.
You cannot be free if you are forced to be free, it must be a choice for it to mean anything.
So, God, imparting his wisdom, is telling us that seeking to live from love will lead us to everything we desire.
And that it is not a good idea to live from fear.
For centuries, probably way longer, we have been living from fear and teaching our children to do the same.
Pretty much everyone believes they are not enough, in some way or another, and are afraid of being ‘found out’
We hide our fear and feel shame, guilt and insecurity.
We live the fear, or empire, way of life.
This invitation is to unlearn our fearful ways, to throw them away and to live from the new paradigm of love.
We do that by knowing who we are.
When we feel fear, it is a warning to us that we have a false view of ourselves, or/and God or/and how life works.
So, knowing who we are, who God is and how this works, is the path to love, to life and to freedom.
And remaining in that knowing, living from our God-entity, continually seeking the kingdom is our daily practice.
